On Sunday 8th June, farms across Britain will be opening their gates to the public for farming’s annual open day. Open Farm Sunday offers visitors the chance to see farming with nature at first hand, to discover where their food comes from, how it is produced and to meet the people responsible – the farmers! So, make a date to visit Oaktrack.

Open Farm Sunday is a great family day out and offers a unique chance to learn more about all that farmers like us do and to show your support for British farming. On the day Oaktrack owners Tina and Jim Wells and other members of the team will be on hand to tell you more about the farming industry, show you how your food is produced and what is being done to care for the countryside. And to answers all your questions! So, that at the end of the day you will have had a great time and come away with a greater understanding of farming and the countryside.
Come and join us at Oaktrack for Open Farm Sunday on the 8th June between 11am – 3pm and learn more about our farm. As well as hearing from members of the team, there will be hands-on interactive activities and demonstrations. On the day you can also find out how we look after and care for our poultry, pigs and sheep, as well as the wonderful wildlife that lives on the farm too.
Throughout the day you are welcome to walk around the farm and there will be lots of information and free activity packs – a perfect way to discover all about British farming for yourself. You will also be able to get up close to the machinery we use every day and learn about local countryside crafts including willow weaving and spinning.
Oaktrack owner, Tina Wells said: “The annual LEAF Open Days are a great way for farmers to engage with the public and provide an opportunity for people to learn more about how their food is produced. Oaktrack is really looking forward to participating in this national event and welcoming visitors to the farm again. The day promises to be a fun and fascinating day out for all."
