August in the beautiful Test Valley, Hampshire, offers plenty of things to do to keep you entertained; enjoy exploring, walking, cycling, or fishing, visiting gardens and attractions and taking in some of the country’s most breath-taking scenery.

Picnic in the Park will be back this year on Wednesdays in August from 11am to 2pm. Head to the Riverside Park in Andover to picnic and join in a range of activities and games.
Family Summer Fun is a free event on Thursday 3 August from 10am to 3pm at Picket Piece in Andover, join in the fun with the Unity Youth team with games, crafts and activities.
Four Fun Friday’s every Friday in August from 11am to 3pm on Andover’s High Street there will be a range of family activities and exciting events.
Trout ‘n About on Sunday 6 August is an annual festival celebrating the Test Valley’s most famous produce – the trout! Each year Stockbridge High Street is alive with local traders showcasing the very best of local food, produce and crafts. It is a family friendly event attracting hundreds of visitors from all around.
Step back in time to Bridgerton Bliss: A regency afternoon with tea, tunes and twirls at Houghton Lodge Gardens. Taking place on Sunday 6 August, this event is a brilliant opportunity to immerse yourself in the charm of Regency England right in the heart of Hampshire.
Look out for Black Chalk Vineyards Friday Night Late events in August. The Black Chalk Bar will be open and they will have the newly released vintages of Classic, Wild Rose, Dancer in Pink and the NEW Rumour Has It Chardonnay by the glass and bottle, all accompanied by the best burgers in Hampshire!
Afternoon tea week at Sir Harold Hilliers Gardens, with a few delicious home-made sweets and fresh sandwiches and a warm cup of tea. You even get to enjoy a complimentary glass of fizz.
The Bennetts British Superbike Championship returns to Thruxton Circuit for an unmissable three days of action-packed bike racing (11 -13 August), where the adrenaline-pumping two-wheeled heroes of the BSB will take centre stage for what will undoubtedly be a pulsating 2023 campaign. The one for art lovers, don’t miss Hampshire Open Studios is running from 19 to 28 August, an annual art trail where the visiting public can meet artists in their homes, studios and galleries free of charge. There are a wide variety of venues to see along with every type of art and craft on offer in the region, including painting, sculpture, ceramics, glass, furniture, jewellery and many more.
To finish the month off August bank holiday weekend offers a musical feast of a finale to the month with Family Music in the Gardens event at Sir Harold Hilliers Gardens and the Romsey Old Cadets band 60 year celebration in Romsey.
The Lights theatre a creative hub for Andover and this summer will be staging a mix of comedy, shows, and tribute bands for all to enjoy.
The Plaza in Romsey will be offering plays, tribute bands and comedy during the summer months.
